This course would suit you if you:
- Are interested in developing practical agricultural skills and supporting theoretical understanding
- Enjoy working outdoors, with farm animals, machinery and in construction
This course consists of developing a wide range of agricultural skills and knowledge, one day per week, through:
- Taking part in taught sessions and group discussions
- Visiting farms and businesses relevant to the industry
- Participating in farm practicals
- Working alongside commercial farmers
- Completing a range of units in order to gain the Level 1 or 2 Award, Certificate or Diploma in Agriculture
You also gain experience in the following areas:
- Livestock production systems - dairy, beef, sheep, pigs and poultry
- Animal Health - treatments and preventions
- Crop production systems
- Construction and maintenence of field boundaries and animal accommodation
- Machinery maintenance and operation
